My works emerge through surrender to movement, allowing instinct, gravity, breath, and texture to guide the composition. The result is a visual language that invites contemplation, openness, and reconnection with what feels deeply true.
This body of work did not emerge from an idea, but from memory. Not the kind held by the mind, but the one carried through the body, through breath, rhythm, and the intuitive movement of the hand as it finds its way through matter.
Encountering the Vinča civilization awakened an ancient pulse within me, something long present yet muted, now finding its voice again. For me, Vinča, a Neolithic culture that developed in the Danube region of present-day Serbia, is more than an archaeological legacy; it evokes a state of consciousness in which human beings live in balance with nature, space, and one another.
I recognize this balance through two complementary principles that have gradually become the visual language of my work: structure and flow.
In the relief works, matter gathers layer upon layer, becoming a sustaining ground. I experience this as the masculine principle: presence, steadiness, the capacity to hold without controlling. In the fluid works, pigment moves through water, gravity, gesture, and trust. I experience this as the feminine principle: receptive, intuitive, playful, free to move because something strong enough holds the space.
Neither exists fully without the other. The ground allows the current to surrender to movement; the current keeps the ground alive. For me, this is also the essence of conscious living.
Today, we often search outside ourselves for the balance that allows us to live with greater clarity and presence. Yet I believe its memory already exists within us, as an inherited capacity to recognize our own rhythm and our place within a larger living whole.
I think of my paintings as energetic maps of that remembrance. Through layers, currents, organic pathways, and spaces of stillness, they carry ancient wisdom into a contemporary visual language, inviting the viewer inward, toward the quiet center from which one’s own nature can be heard again.
Modern complexity led me back to ancient simplicity. Through contemporary forms, I trace depth, presence, movement, and grounded strength, qualities that return us to a more essential relationship with ourselves and with the living world. From that center, our relationships begin to shift: with ourselves, with another human being, with nature, and with the world we inhabit.
In my work, I do not seek to explain Vinča. I listen and translate that listening into images. Not as testimony of the past, but as a living map for the present, an invitation to the viewer not to seek explanation, but to pause. To let the current continue within. To find balance between firmness and ease, between structure and trust in life.
When do you feel free to be truly yourself?
I paint a space for deep thinking where we feel free to explore and connect with our true selves, so we can find the rest we need to make big decisions. My art inspires a rhythm that flames our inner spark, so we can talk with an open mind and build relationships with others when we are honest with ourselves.
Meaningful conversations inspire me. “When do you feel free to be truly yourself?” For me, it is when I travel that I feel truly free. But I know it is not so simple to travel anytime we want. That question has triggered me to search further and learn how I can paint in a way that inspires such a feeling of freedom within our home or office.
When I have a clear understanding of the subject, I start painting. Large canvases give me the freedom to dance, get emotional, and truly be myself, free from rules, expectations, and doubts. I desire to spread that sense of freedom to others. With pure passion, I paint waves and roads for the viewer to travel and get lost in their thoughts and emotions. I create pathways for them to find something new every time they wish to spend some quiet, yet adventurous time on their own stories; the luxurious space that reminds us to break free and be true to our passions.
My ultimate goal is to use painting as a filter to welcome brave people who are ready to search further into how we can set free our true nature. I connect on a deeper level with those who dare to walk into the unknown and take part in this canny process of making. Love.
